The Morning Dew by Edward Lorn

The Morning Dew - Edward Lorn

Another intriguing short story from Ed Lorn, James and his friends the Carmichael Brothers are looking forward to spending the night camping in something that resembles Tarzan’s tree hut, playing cards and devouring Fig Newtons (how many years since I last saw a legendary Fig Newton – a damn lot).

Things are gonna change when the rain comes though, just ask Mr Thomas from next door as a gilded beast with way to many legs chases him, like a cheetah stalking a sloth.

I only made one note as I read this, one for a quote – ‘The sky looked heavy and mean, like a pregnant woman deprived of a meal’ and I especially liked the impact of Cradle of Filth on the intruders.
